Saturday June 15 – 7:00pm at the Club House
Slide & Video Show, Talk & Dinner, Auction with Solo Sailor, Andrew Waters
Andrew Waters, having recently returned from his Solo Circumnavigation of the BVI is sharing his adventures and experiences at the Club house on Saturday June 15th through a slide and video presentation. Andrew, a keen sailor, challenged himself to make the 200+ mile journey around the entire BVI to “sail for a cure”,…. to raise funds to help find a cure for Vitiligo, a skin disorder that affects his own daughter. He chose to circumnavigate the BVI in an IC 24- a racing boat, which he had to fit outjust for the trip. Please join us to hear Andrew tell of his adventure and experiences. The RBVIYC will be donating a portion of the proceeds from food and beverage sales to Andrew’s cause, Vitiligo International Support.
Dinner is served from 7:00 on with the slide and video presentation starting at 8:00.
Spaghetti alla Bolognese
Linguini with Clam Sauce
Fresh Greens & Salads

$ 20 per person to support a worthy cause
Vitiligo affects approximately 1% of the population worldwide and patients with vitiligo develop white spots on the skin that vary in size and location. The precise cause of vitiligo is not known and it affects all races and genders
Chaya and others with the disease deserve a cure, it can happen to you too.
Learn more about the disease and support the effort by spreading the word and donating.
Andrew will sail an IC 24 boat all around the BVI. It will be a challenge for the accomplished sailor, as the IC24 is a very basic type of boat. The roundtrip should take him about two days. With no sleep, constantly sprayed with salt water and whatever the weather brings him, Andrew will attempt something that very few sailors would deliberately try to attempt. Usually, there is a crew of at least two or three people. Andrew will be out there on his own.
